ANCIENT TEMPLE OF KALIKA MATA OF SANDAN/SAYAN, SUJANGARH CHURU

Dungri of Sandan / Sayan is situated on Ratangarh-Salasar road in Sujangarh tehsil of Churu district of Rajasthan. An ancient temple divided into three parts is situated on this hill. The temple of Kali Mata of Sandan/Syanan is said to be the contemporary of Harshnath in the tenth century. Two temples are facing each other on the hill facing east and west. The third main temple is south facing. All these three temples are built in the shape of a chariot. The rocks of the hill are brown in color with gravel. These temples are built with these stones.

Harsh, Sikar (Harshnath Temple)

Harshnath Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva which is situated in the Sikar district of the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is located 14 km from district headquarters Sikar.

Rani Sati Temple

At the request of the Maharajas of Bikaner and Jodhpur, she laid down the foundations of Bikaner Fort and Mehrangarh Fort, the two most important forts in the region. Indian Army troops from the Marwar region also regard Karni Mata as their patron deity.

Khatushyam

Story of khatushyam ji begins with the Mahābhārata. Barbarika alias 'KhatuShyam' alias Shyam Baba was a grandson of Bhima, Second of the Pandava brothers. He was the son of Ghatotkacha (who in turn was son of Bhima) and Kamkantkata Ma Morwi. The gods (ashtadeva) gave him the three infallible arrows. Hence, Barbarika came to be known as "Bearer of Three Arrows".

When Barbarika learnt that the battle between the Pandavas and the Kauravas had become inevitable, he wanted to witness what was to be the Mahābhārata War. He promised his mother that if he felt the urge to participate in the battle, he would join the side that would be losing. He rode to the field on his blue horse, equipped with his three arrows and bow.

Churu Fort

Churu Fort was constructed by Thakur Kushal Singh in 1649 A.D. In 1814, Surat Singh of Bikaner attacked this fort and after ammunition was exhausted, Thakur Shiv Singh fired Cannon balls made of silver in defence of fort. Shiv Singh also constructed Gopinath temple inside the fort.
